Bertrand DORNY
A lifelong Parisian, Bertrand Dorny (1931-2015) is known mostly for his vast oeuvre as a printmaker. His distinctive style, made of color aquatints with saturated colors, and cut out color fields, is generally completely abstract. Most of Dorny’s prints contain some element of embossing, which lend his prints a dimensional quality in which light catches the relief in some way. Later in life Dorny also started make collages and assembling driftwood wall sculptures. Still, his oeuvre as a printmaker, approximately 650 compositions in all, are what he is remembered for today.
