The great armor-hanging pine of legend, where the Heian Period warrior Minamoto Yoshiie was said to have stopped on his route north to subjugate the Abe clan in the 11th century. In Hiroshige’s day it seems to have been a popular place to relax, as seen by the tea stalls glimpsed at left. Today much of what we see as water is now reclaimed land; it is now near the Omori train Station. With applied mica, visible woodgrain in the sky and nice bokashi, indicating an early edition.
Condition: Very good impression, color and condition. Center fold.
