In 1919, David Keppel of the print publishers, Frederick Keppel and Co., invited Nevinson to New York for an exhibition of his war prints.  Nevinson made etchings and drawings of the skyscrapers.  When he returned to London, he made paintings, etchings, and lithographs of Manhattan.
